What is next, in Nepal?

We hardly have any time these days to think about what happens to us in coming few years. We are busy to understand the present, to make our living at present relevant. We hardly get time to think about future of Nepal. It seems we are quite content with 'New' Nepal.

The same "New Nepal" which we thought will be a better living place for all of us. We thought we will unite after abolishing monarchy, after bringing Maoist to main political stream. We were dreaming that Maoists will learn to behave and prosperity is just a matter of few years.

Little more than few years have passed. Maoist presented all their colours and standards. Nepal has almost descended to anarchy. We want to be democratic but have entrusted government mechanism to a complete novice in managing government and politics. We are at his and their mercy. We believe that he will conduct free and fair election and gives democracy back to us. If that happens! I repeat if that happens - that if power is transferred from Khilraj Regmi to democratically elected government, that day should be declared as a new "Democracy Day". Or, rather looking at the Nepalese Trend in Democracy day, that day will be one more "Historical Democracy Day".

Looking at the webpages of news sites, discussion at public forums and social media, it is not difficult to fathom that we are getting less interested in politics these days seriously. I mean we talk about politics all day so that we can easily pass our time but almost all the time, we are happy to resort to sarcasm. We are loving it when we make fun of Prachanda - Maoist Supremo and his deputy - Doctor Bhattarai. We do not spare Sushil Da (Congress President) or Jhalnath (UML Chairman). That shows we simply do not care about politics any more. If election happens, we may go to vote but if that does not happen in November, 2013, common Nepalese have nothing to worry.

Hence, I decipher we care less about Nepal these days. Either we trust Lord Pashupatinath too much or have realised that our talks/care has no meaning when politics is driven from outside Nepal or from some other place than Singh Darbar.

Then, What Next, in Nepal?

Simply nothing. I do not see decreasing number of people going to Gulf. Little more educated and lucky will be in US and Europe as Student and PR and doctorate on so on for many years. And, poor and unlucky may end up being in JNU or Punjab washing dishes in small restaurants and doing security guard job. Till the time, the egoism of political parties, the dreams of Maoist to capture state and the selfishness of fringe parties and leaders do not end, there is nothing Next.

Our generation sounds pessimistic and hopeless but This is the Truth.
